I was thinking the same thing. I watch people weekly handle guns like they would handle a coffee cup or an iPhone. No respect; and what amazes me is no one usually says anything to them. I had a female friend point one of my rifles at me like it was a toy gun. I immediately told her to take it off me, and asked how she knew it wasn't loaded. Her answer was that she "knew" I wouldn't have a loaded gun in the house. What kind of an answer is that? Last week at Frisco Gun Club while I waited to get a lane, I watched a guy "point" a pistol he was considering buying at a member of the FGC staff numerous times. You would have thought he was buying an iPhone. The staff member never corrected him. My dad told me when he first started letting me pick up a gun to imagine that there is a stick in the end of the barrel, it is twenty feet long, and you don't want to hit anyone with that stick. I thought at first that was a funny way of saying it, but I think of that lesson to this day. This lack of respect is why I'm a little nervous about being around strangers with guns, and with the thought that so many unconscious people are carrying concealed weapons in Texas. Taking one concealed-carry class does not make you a safe gun owner. I'm not sure it serves any purpose to prosecute this young woman, except maybe as a threat to others. Killing the father of her children, and separating her from them both seem senseless. How does she raise $20,000 if she's sitting in prison? The whole situation is sad and senseless.

I don't think she is as stupid, by a small margin, as the idiot who convinced her to take the shot and held the book in front of his chest. Seems to me, if I was stupid enough to even think of doing such a stunt, I'd have tried the bullet stopping ability of the book BEFORE I held it in front of my chest. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

What about the spectators who watched it ? What happen to basic common sense ? We need to have a basic civics and intelligence test before citiZens can vote, buy guns, engage in contracts - there are too many idiots out there Mike

There should be an intelligence test to: Reproduce Vote Own a gun Drive Express your opinion in public. There are too many functioning idiots in this world. Kid that used to work for me joined the S.O. He was curious about how his vest would perform so he hung it on a clothes line + shot it with his 357;went right through. Must have been an older model but he gained no confidence in the vest. Never mistake motion for action.

In all seriousness - a us citizen voting should have to pass the same test on us government and history a legal immigrant has to pass to become a us citizen. Maybe take a NRA gun safety course before one can buy a gun. Mike
