If I'm out of line here, please just PM me and I will delete this. Why is it when an item is SOLD, the seller feels it necesary to bring the sold item to the top of the heap by posting "Sold" or "SPF" and push all the other ads down? A simple edit of the original ad showing "Sold" or "SPF" in the title or body would serve the same purpose and allow the ad to fade away. With Saeed asking us not to bump our ads to the top, the valid ads would gain more exposure. Is there something I'm missing?

No, good point. I'm guilty of that...I just do it to let others who may have asked about the item, or may be considering it, know that it is no longer available. An edit would accomplish the same thing. Good point! A sold item does not need to be at the top of the list.

I don't think so. Some people just don't follow the rules. They comment on a gun they have no intention of buying. They think the rules don't apply to them. They do it to run their post count up. Keep yer powder dry and yer knife sharp.

Wizard78, Common sense and consideration for others does not seem to count for much here.

Wouldn't it be easier just to delete the post after the item is sold.

Isn't it wasting space to bring up such a question in the classifieds? And I'm sure you don't have any peculiarities that irritate people! Phil

Like Biebs I figured it was a courtesy to others that might have been looking at the item, but if it is offensive I will just edit the initial post to add "(SPF)" to the heading. Thanks for raising the issue. Mike

I never know from week to week what might strike my fancy here. A "bump" has been helpful, and led to a purchase on more than one occasion. I just delete my sold items...

The Classifieds are not a discussion forum. Moved to 'Miscellaneous Topics'. George

It was nice of George to move the post rather than delete it. I agree there is no means to bump a sold item if edit is available. I may be in the minority, but I find value in ads for which the item has been sold, to give me some feel for the market on that item. A 72 hour bump on a post is reasonable to me, but not same day sort of thing. Support the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation

I mean really, is that all you've got to complain about? Give me a break! xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.
