Not much different than Irezumi and Tebori(traditional Japanese) tattooing.

Those cactus spines are a bitch. Here in central Texas we have more than our share.When the kids were little + running around outside it was just a matter of time before some one got an ass full of spines.We'ed hold them face down on the table saw tail off table _ remove the big spines with tweezers,but the little hair like spines we removed by wrapping a piece of duct tape (God's wonder product) in a loop backwards to fit over the 4 fingers + then started to quickly pull them out;+ you need to do it quick before the muscles contract.

Randy, I have heard that you can get a lot of the tiny hair-like spines out by rubbing the area with a piece of nylon stocking. But I don't know of many women who wear nylons these days.
