I enjoy Argentine meat cooking greatly BUT it ain't THAT good. For the difference in cost of plane ticket money you can eat a helluva lot better steaks here in the USA. It may be a bit cheaper in Argentina, but it damn sure ain't better.

Maybe do some duck hunting. High volume dove shooting does not appeal to a terrible shotgunner like me.

Seems like a nice country for a road trip.

It’s a great place. You might become a better wing shot on the dove if you listen to your birdboy, as they’ve seen it all. Just to be out in the field watching the dove fly still blows my mind. I don’t really shoot them that much, but will split a case of shells just to pass the time after the asado with clients.

It is a beautiful country for road tripping, but the drivers are crazy. Most “rutas” are 2 lanes and passing is a sport. You might be going 120kmph and then come up on a combine (or 30 year old fiat) limping along. I’ve had some close calls with passing vehicles. Buses also cause back ups.

The meat is good, but it’s also the variety that makes it such a great experience. A bottle of good Malbec can be had for not much more than a 2L Coke.

My last request to my in-laws before they came up to see the grand-babies was to bring me a bottle of Legui. Can't find it here.

I can get good Malbec anywhere.

The one item they can keep down there is their Fernet Argentina. No thank you. Fernet & Coke just ruins a good Coke.

I have to keep my eye on my wife. She will have them throw out my bottle of Legui so she can have another box of Havana alfajores.

The only non-consumable we get from there is Voltaran gel for our aching joints. Prescription here; not there.

The Havana alfajores are wonderful. I actually saw them for sale in Miami during one of my layovers. As we mentioned Tango’s prior, I tried some of their alfajores and also did not measure up.

Fernet is unique. The first time made me think I was drinking cough medicine. I then acquired the taste and enjoy it. I’ve heard there is more Fernet sold in Cordoba province than in all of Italy where it’s from (but now manufactured in Argentina due to the volume).

Legui is also very unique. Gancia with sprite and lemmon is refreshing on hot days. However, I don’t get the Fanta mixed with beer.
