Who has not got there shingles shots, ought to. This is most miserable pain that I have been thru. I have 8 bumps on my scalp about the size of a Navy bean. I can hardly put on a T-shirt or sit in recliner without being in burning pain. trying to get some sleep that's a joke. I have terrible headaches all day long, then I get this sharp pain on my scalp that will stop you in your tracks.

Just had my first shot yesterday, $314.

My wife has it for the second time. Intense nerve pain. Lucky she took antivirals early but doesn’t stop the nerve pain.

Any Veteran can get them for asking at VA. Ex g/f had that battle for 6 years on her tits and back at the same time. Dad had them on his face.

Sure nothing anyone would want to go thru.

Best wishes to you.

Shingles!

Got it a few years ago.

Was not a very pleasant experience.

Funny part was looking in the Internet for its cause, I apparently could have had about half a million ailments that can cause shingles!!

I had the shots years ago. I remember that the first shot (2 in a series) made me sore for over a week. It felt like someone had hit my shoulder with a baseball bat.

I got them

I was standing in my bathroom on a Saturday morning after I got out of the shower and the GF at the time asked what “that rash” was.

I took a pic and sent it to my buddy who is an Internist (he happened to be at his farm mowing) and he texted back “Shingles. I already called in a scrip it should be ready in 30 min and I called in a pain killer because it can get painful” (my pharmacy info and my info is in his phone lol).

Fortunately we caught it just at the outbreak and it wasn’t bad at all. No pain and just a little itching.

I know others that have been almost debilitated for weeks worth them.

I count myself fortunate.

In Australia it’s recommended 50yrs plus and over 65 years old it’s free. Well, the taxpayers pay it.

The recommendation is 50+.

I managed to contract it at 45 so YMMV.

I had the two dose vax a few years back. Like Frank, the first shot left my arm so sore that I actually thought about not getting the second dose (but I did). I have had other vaccines that left my arm a little sore, take a Tylenol and move on. The shingles vaccine was in a league of its own. That said, the soreness passes and if it keeps me from getting shingles, it's all good.

I don't think my insurance covers it yet due to age. Based on what you guys are saying with the arm pain, that reminds me what Tetanus shots feel like.

I had shingles a couple of years ago, no pain, really itchy though and did not want to go away, I took at least two if not three courses of medicine to get it to clear up.

The first vaccination shot did not bother me, the second hurt like hell about 3 days after the shot. Really strange.

Hopeful that the vaccination works, shingles is not tons of fun even without the pain.
