Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna, Candler Road Pawn Shop in Decatur, and Chuck's Firearms in Buckhead. Candler Road used to have a lot of high-end stuff like Weatherbys, Sakos, Colt SAAs, etc. I haven't been there in years though, and also be aware it is in an area of town that is not so good. I go to Adventure Outdoors regularly, it is a nice shop with lots, I mean lots, of guns. Chuck's has a lot of high end stuff like Berettas, Sakos, Merkels etc. and is located in Buckhead which is close to downtown. http://www.adventureoutdoors.us/ http://www.candlerpawnshop.com/about.php http://www.chucksfirearms.com/index.html Hi Caliber just opened a few months ago in Holly Springs and is a really nice shop and range. The family that owns it are really nice people and there is no "gun store attitude" there, just a nice, friendly family-run business. http://hicaliberfirearms.com/ Bass Pro in Lawrenceville (north on I-85 a few miles outside of the Perimeter) also has quite a few guns. Lastly, if you are into shotgunning I would suggest a trip out to the Tom Lowe Shooting Grounds for some trap and skeet. It was the shooting venue for the '96 Olympics. It is cheap to shoot there and they rent Beretta over/under shotguns for, IIRC, $9 per day. They also have a nice selection of shotguns for sale. http://atlantaskeetshooting.com/

Cane Rat Has Adventure Outdoors moved yet? I was in there late last summer and they were talking about moving up the road about a mile? Landrum

Not yet, but he is getting ready. They are moving into a much larger store on the opposite side of South Cobb Drive maybe a block or so south of where they are now. They are moving into what was a supermarket, I believe, there is a big sign on the building advertising the move. He sure has grown from when he used to be in the Windy Hill location where he now has Smyrna Police Distributors.

Thanks. In Atlanta this weekend. Visited both Chuck's and Adventure Outdoors. Liked them both with a slight preference for Chuck's Next visit will look for a Sporting Clays range in the area. Any suggestions?

Glad you enjoyed your visit to our city. Give the Tome Lowe Shooting Grounds a try. They don't have sporting clays but they do have "Maze Clays" which is very challenging and a lot more fun than trap or skeet. http://mazeclays.com/

For sporting clays you might want to try The Meadows National Gun Club, Cherokee Rose Sporting, or Big Red Oak. All about an hour south of Atlanta. Check their websites or call for hours. Larry
