https://www.sciencedaily.com/r.../12/171213143613.htm This research by Tulane U is not happy news.It shows that even with "now standard treatment" [4 weeks on doxycyclin it may not be enough even when tests are negative .Those patients may have viable Lyme bacteria hiding that may continue giving problems . Take Lyme seriously !!

I have a nephew that was a serious body builder and health nut that contacted Lymes. He is having serious problems with it and looks a shell of himself. I'm not familiar with his treatment, but he has been told that a permanent cure isn't out there.

Had a friend that was a veteranarian and he ended up with Lyme disease and it contributed to his death. Even the rocks don't last forever.

I went through a very long , high dosage doxycycline treatment hopefully it will at least stabilize me. My brother has just been found to be Lyme positive so he'll go through the same I guess .At least much research is being done .PA now has a program to educate Docs which will also educate the rest of us.

I have been fighting serious lymes related carditis. for 3 years now. I was first diagnosed with lymes in 1988 had it under control most of the time till 3 years ago. Most doctors are of 30 days of treatment and your done. I found one that has been treating me now for 3 years. Still fighting. If you have long term lymes it is important to find a doctor that believes in long term treatment.
