Buying a camping trailer Login/Join

Wifezilla decided that we needed a travel trailer for camping and to take when I go hunting on my buddy's ranch in Wyoming. I camp out at the range (50 miles from home) some weekends and drive occasionally for hunting trips.

The last time Wifezilla went camping with me was 1983.

I wanted trailer A, Wifezilla wanted trailer C. I found trailer B which had the most important features that I wanted and 99% of what Wifezilla wanted.

We bought trailer C.

I've been married so long that I don't even look both ways when I cross the street.

I tell people my marriage lasted 40 years because I surrendered early.

Sounds like the arrangement I made with my wife about kids. I wanted two, she wanted three. We compromised and had three. At least she doesn't bitch when I load up to go hunting. She's a good'un.

By the way, what camper did you get?

The wife and I agreed (yes, actually agreed) on a 2018 Jayco Eagle HT 29.5FBDS last summer. We're very happy so far.

We got the Forest River- Cherokee Wolf Pup 18TO (with the slide out). I wanted the smaller 17 VF which is the shorter trailer with the V front and no slider.

That's a nice little trailer. I like that floor plan - good use of space. I think you'll like the slide; it sure opens up the space so it's more "livable."

Wife and I used to camp out a lot. When I asked about a camper or travel trailer, she vetoed it. Said when you camp, you're in a tent. She said if you want to be inside, stay home or you can stay at a lot of hotel/motels for what a travel trailer would cost.
She passed in 2005 and the fall of 2004, we spent 6 weeks camped in WY.

what, pray tell, did trailer C have that trailer A and b did not? Pink curtains?

Your first mistake was asking permission..

Sometimes (especially with wives) it is better to beg forgiveness than ask permission!
