Good luck finding a snapper in the Alamo area.
I never saw one in 20 some odd years in NM. Soft shell or one of the smaller geographic/slider turtles bout did it.

I have cleaned two, a little one and a BIG one.
With the lousy dull knives at my Aunt's farm it was serious work.
Never spent much time in that part of the state except in Roswell and Carlsbad proper.
