My favorite scotch runs about $80 a bottle. I guess I'm a low brow drunk!

Yes, I enjoy drinking it too much. Not like I could afford it, though....

The breakdown works out to $43,000 per shot. A bit rich for my taste...

I recall a guy commenting on cognac a few years ago about Remy Martin VSOP, (I prefer Courvoisier) that although I do enjoy a Very Special Old Pale the escalated price doesn't really mean it's superior, it just means you paid too much. As for me, I admit that my taste buds are not up to the discretionary differences but I do know when I've paid too much.

True, I remember years ago working part-time at a pawn shop off base that some woman brought in a whole set of Jim Beam bottles in the shape of railroad cars. She assumed that as a set they had value. They did not.

Welcome to the ranks of the other reminiscence elderly. Along with firearms too legion to mention in this regard, I get several WW2 magazines that always have ads for nazi + german stuff, medals, daggers, etc. that are going for thousands of dollars now. When I was a kid + war 2 was the last one all this stuff was in the Army-Navy store for no more than $5.00 tops. The key to financial success has always been foresight + timing. I'll be the 1st to admit that I fell short on both. Hindsight is 20/20.
