Nearly 75 years after she was sunk in the Battle of the Coral Sea in May 1942... Researcher Paul Allen has announced locating, identifying & photographing the wreck today the 5th of March 2018. The US NAVY has been very interested in precisely locating all sunken WW2 warships so that they can be protected as war graves. If I provoke you into thinking then I've done my good deed for the day! Those who manage to provoke themselves into other activities have only themselves to blame. *We Band of 45-70er's* 35 year Life Member of the NRA NRA Life Member since 1984

There is a very famous photo of the Lex, on fire and listing to starboard, barely under way, with crew abandoning ship, literally jumping off the rails and the deck into the water. The father of my first wife was among those seen jumping overboard. Frank Coleson, Seaman 3rd Class, USN. 19 years old at the time. He survived and was picked up by a life boat, transferred to a support vessel, and went on to serve on two other carriers. Can you imagine jumping from a ship on fire into an oily, burning sea? Frank is gone, God Bless him. He would have loved to have heard this news. 114-R10David

She also will not be moved or recovered;her grave stays where it is.Thank you Naval dept. on your wisdom on this case. TWL,just for your + everyone else's knowledge,if a sailor goes down with his ship + survives,he is allowed by naval code to wear an ear ring.Really.I had an uncle that went down w/3 ships + wore 3 ear rings. When under inspection one day the visiting Admiral was not aware of the tradition;he was brought up to date. Never mistake motion for action.
