Veteran's day can be sort of a sad and somber occasion when remembering all of those who have paid such a high price for their country.

But it can be a happy occasion as well. Each year on this day I spend quite a few minutes reflecting on the time I spent in the military, the good, the bad, and the ugly, as well as the tremendous opportunities that I was able to take advantage of by having served in the U. S. Navy.

I went to The Wall at the end of May.

Two of my friends from the Ranger Company's names are there, and three of my cousins as well.

God Bless all of those who served. There and elsewhere over the last four centuries.
