I found this ring a couple of weeks ago. Could anyone recommend someone that could tell me if the design on the side is writing or just decorative? It belonged to a member of the Deutches Afrikakorps in 1941. Dave In 100 years who of us will care? An armed society is a polite society! I'd post the face of it but sometimes people are offended by anything with a swastika. Dave In 100 years who of us will care? An armed society is a polite society! Just because they say you are paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get you.

Today most of those offended have safe spaces they can retreat to.

Probably true. If I can find out if this is Arabic and if it means something I will post the face since if a Mod dumped it then I could care less. This is probably from Libya as IIRC The DAK spent 1941 there. Dave In 100 years who of us will care? An armed society is a polite society! I am fairly sure it is arabic. You should PM Saeed and direct his attention to this thread. Otherwise he will likely never see it. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Good idea.It would be interesting to know the history on this. I know my Uncle Dick was there for the retaking of the Phillipenes in WW2 + there was a little street arab selling rings from a neck strap suitcase (ala cigarette girls)It was gold w/ a ruby. He bought one,his buddy bought several + kept them in a money belt.Uncle Dick wore that ring until he died. Out of curiosity he had it appraised in 1960. It was valued at $10,000.00. I think he gave like 50 cents or maybe a buck,I don't recall. Never mistake motion for action.
