I'm looking for a recommendation. Is there a game camera that might serve as a security camera? I want to watch my outdoor living area. We've got a thief working in the area. He hasn't hit my property, but I would like something to share with the police if he does.

All of them should work and I have used them for that purpose. Just make certain to get one with IR rather than a flash. I've had good luck with the Moultrie M-40i which I see is presently on sale for $79 at Midway.

Get two, one with IR, and one with flash to let the thief know they have been photographed and scare them off.

My son (the electronic wiz)is setting one up for me as we have also had burglaries in the area.Someone tried to kick in the entrance door rather than the bay doors of my shop, word must have got out about guns on premesis. Only problem here is that my side door is the ex-vault door from Certifided Savings Bank.Back in the day when I was still doing HVAC work in the field we were upgrading the S/M ductwork in the bank when they were doing renovations. I noticed that they had about 8 wets carrying out this massive door out to load in a truck. I asked Dayton, the job super what they were going to do with it. He said just sell it for scrap. I asked him what he wanted for it + he told me he sure could use a couple of rolls of duct tape. 'DEAL',So they loaded it on my truck + the rest is history.

Impala, we think alike. I'd put the one with the flash in an obvious place and the IR focused on the location of the flash camera. Once he knows he's been photographed, he's going to want that camera. Two benefits. He focuses his attention on that camera instead of your other stuff, and your second camera is set up to focus on him. I've got video 360 thanks to ... nevermind.

Lavaca, you are right. The camera will be a prime target for a thief.

WHEREVER IT IS MOUNTED, BE SURE IT IS NOT EASY TO REMOVE.

Get a 4g cam like the Ridgetec, Spartan, or
Covert cellular cam, you will have the picture in less than 2 min. and you can set it to take video also. Send it to your computer, cell phone or both!

I have all three, but prefer the Ridgetec because you can still send SMS command to make it send a picture on demand. I can sit at home and monitor the green fields at all times.

I have 5 setup on green fields of the ones that you can send SMS command to for sending a picture on demand. I check the green field off and on during the day to see what is feeding in the green fields. They don't have to be close to trigger the cam because you can send the SMS and it will take a picture.
