When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Since you have talked about moving to
Texas, I am going to give you some free advice. Texans take their and I stress THEIR college football VERY SERIOUSLY. If you come to Texas, even to visit, you need to either be a football diplomat, (know the preferences of who you are going to be with and wear that schools colors and hat) or choose sides and prepare for war. Do you think A and M graduates thought of all those TRUE AGGIE jokes? No sireee, it was from the fount of knowledge found in Austin, the GREAT UNIVERSITY of TEXAS, known to the enemy from further East as T Sippers. If this hasn't illustrated the point, I would advise you to avoid Texas, especially during football season. Mad Frowner Mad

Charlie, my apologies if I sound like I am gloating. Can't help being pleased for the football program at my alma mater landing such a promising recruit.
And although I'll be moving to New Mexico, I will take your counsel to heart when inside the borders of the Lone Star state. Daughter went to Baylor during the Robert Griffin III years ...

I think what Charlie says goes for most of the Southeast US. I went to grad school at Florida. They would cordon off a large portion of the student parking lot for the alumni and their RV's for home football games starting on Wednesday before the game. The bon fires would start Wednesday night.

I live in Ohio now. The Bucknuts are minor leaguers compared to the Gator fans.

Naked and Afraid TV show would have nothing on anyone who is dumb enough to dare to insult LSU during football season and was living (however temporary the condition) in Louisiana. Let me assure you that those Cajuns are serious about THEIR football team. They don't call LSU Stadium "Death Valley" for nothing. Big Grin

Bill:

It is rare that one can help the location of his alma mater and in your case, it is forgiveable. Anyone who wants to go thru life as a Duck obviously deserves what they get. From now on, I'll just call you "Mallard", with a high ball call and, if you decoy, we'll shoot you. All in a good days duck hunting in Texas. Roll Eyes

Bill, tell them to back-off. You have football where you are going. You have the Loboes and the Aggies in New Mexico to support. So you got football............Wait a minute, the Loboes and Aggies haven't had a winning season in about......ever.......You are one hurt puppy. My condolences.

Don't yell GO DUCKS around Alamogordo or someone may swing a 12ga. over your head to get a shot.

BTW if Oregon had any REAL football prospects and Texas got one of them, I'd gloat too as long as he wasn't choosing Aggie World Amusement Park. Currently Texans rank the loss of the annual UT/A&M football classic just after the loss of the Alamo. Mad

To eliminate the U of Texas / Texas A&M classic should have resulted with someone lined-up against a wall with a blindfold on.

When my youngest son moved from CA to TX, I told him, under no, absolutely no circumstances should you tell them you were raised in OK.

"Remember the Alamo" Bowl? My alma mater, TCU, came back 30 points down to the Ducks to win in triple overtime!

Oh no, he'll probably find his bags packed and sitting alongside of I35N.

DCS: That loss to your Horned Frogs was a bitter pill indeed. Beginning of the end for our former coach, Mark Helfrich.
