Not sure if the time limit on the test but that was one question that was more memorization than math solving.

This kind of math skill and testing have foundation to a warren Buffett.

Parts of America are super smart and then there is a sea of stupidity brought on by bad education.

I have a friend who has a 19 year old at university of Pennsylvania working on a dual physics and chemistry degree with a scientific publication going into college while in high school.

Then I see my niece wasting time in college doing nothing.

If you want to get a sense of reality go to a computer science, engineering hard science or math department at any us university see how many us born grad students are there.

The kids today have no concept of math.Just ask any of them to give you change correctly. It is a travesty in education + the ed (?) system is the main problem. is the culprit, They continue to lower the bar + thus put into public use, substandard intellectuals simply to fill their #s on paper w/ no regard to the damage to the nation.I use math every day in my business;frankly every one else does too.The crying shame is that no one can do it in their head any more.I can but I am a dying breed.

Never mistake motion for action.

"No Child Left Behind", meaning slow everyone else down to the dumbest level so no child is left behind. Give a precocious kid a year or two of that and he will first become bored, then disinterested, and the next thing you know, you no longer have a precocious kid with an eager mind. We are a complete failure at public education.

Same deal in Australia.

The other day I went to the shop and a younger girl served me. I wanted to dump some change and had about $23 of change and what I was buying was about $17.

So the girl starts to try and gather $17 "something" from what I put on the table....So I said, just count the total of what I what I put on the table and put it in the ah register and then just give me the change from that amount.

She was in some state of revelation Big Grin
