xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

The example sighted is from Kansas but I can find examples of this exact same type of raid based on the exact same flimsy warrants in every state in the nation. Just post what state you live in and I will find you a similar case...

Unbelievable. The fact that there is ZERO repercussion for this kind of behavior is more dangerous to our way of life than anyone realizes. I can understand the occasional mistake presuming their motives are ethical. When a mistake is made there is NEVER a public apology stating we're trying to do the right thing but we screwed up this one....we apologize, these are good, law-abiding citizens and here's a check for $$$$ to cover any damage. A public apology and a modest check would go a long way in restoring some modicum of respect for this half-cocked war on drugs.

Depends on the jurisdiction. In major metros, those cops and that judge would all be unemployed, indicted, and subject to an avalanche of civil lawsuits. Like I said, choose your location accordingly.

Well Toto,it's not just Kansas anymore. There was an affair here in austin a couple of years back where an elderly woman was wrestled out of her trailer because she had a big stand of pig weed in her yard + the cops did'nt know the difference. Along the same line;here in central Tx. where we have virtually no crime the next little town has now been awarded an armored personel carrier for their 'swat' team from the fed. I know of this because a fellow member in the steel works was given the contract by the P.D. to install hanging rails outside the vehicle so the cops can look cool while going on a bust. Also changing out the seats at a cost of several thousands for us the taxpayers. I will say again that if you allow them to dress like storm troopers they will start to act like them. Never mistake motion for action.

one of the necessities of converting America to a Police State is changing the mentality of the law enforcement agencies from keeping the bad guys off the streets to abrogating the rights of the rest of us...

One really needs to start at the top the legislators, the executives who pass and sign the laws and finely the courts who up hold them. The LEOs that enforce them are a little lower on the blame scale. But they should beheld to their constitutional oath also.

The "war on drugs" is a total failure and should be reconstructed from the bottom up. It has corrupted some police (because of the seizure rules) and it has not resulted in any diminution in drugs on the street. Indeed, there are more types of illegal drugs and more quantity than ever before. Somehow I don't think "the legislators, the executives, etc" are the ones using extremely dubious test results to justify their gestapo tactics. The cops want to make busts, it looks good for the PD in the local paper. Whether they are good or not is another question. They justified this bust on the basis of a positive test for TEA, for Pete's sake!

Qualified Immunity from criminal prosecution for wrong doing is the main reason. No one likes to talk about it but there will cases where a citizen in reasonable fear for his life uses lethal force against LEOs (and survives)- and given the right circumstances, the cards will begin falling. Did not Ohio just pass a law (2014-15) that protects citizens from penalty if they in good faith use lethal force against illegal action by LE? Other states (IL for instance, I think) says you must submit to any LE action w/o question- The question we may have is how do we know if the masked guys with guns coming through the door are in fact "no knock" cops after a bad guy (at the wrong address)? Or must we assume that we are all felons somewhere along the way and we just deserve to have a sub-gun stuck in our grandchildrens faces in their beds? I doubt the fact that my doors all have my house numbers in reflective numbers posted will make the assault team pause to read it and check the warrant, twice.

America has become a Police State. Grizz Indeed, no human being has yet lived under conditions which, considering the prevailing climates of the past, can be regarded as normal. A good case in point on a very minor phsychological level is the termenology written on the squad cars. It used to say "To serve + Protect". that was about you the citizen. Now it says "Duty,Honor ,Integrity." That is only about them. Never mistake motion for action.

Well, when the SWAT team smashed down my front door and enters for no reason several of them will be lying on the floor just inside the door they just hammered down. THAT is how you put a stop to this nonsense.

Sounds good, but, in fact, you would likely be dead asleep, they'd hit you with a couple of flash bangs, and, even if you managed to hit one outside of his vest, you will wind up DRT. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. Fight back or you and your children will live in a soon to be police state where eventually...you will have no rights. People need to choose, just as our forefathers did. I believe they made the right choice then and I believe it is the right choice now. Liberty or Death!

I guess people from the states where it all took place think differently from those from states that were afforded to be formed as a result. Maybe that is why California and other western states are so quick to give up their rights...it didn't cost them anything.

Woodrow: Let me be clear, I'm not saying you're wrong or shouldn't resist, I'm simply pointing out reality. The only way someone might be able to successfully resist is to have a very good security system that would detect movement outside the house. The SWAT teams are heavily armed, trained, and do these home invasions on a regular basis. Mostly with good cause, but when they're wrong, usually resistance results in a dead citizen. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. Spend a couple pf dollars on security doors, area lighting motion sensors and a alarm panel with live video- less than a nice semi custom rifle. Live upstairs, have a safe room, assume that anyone who comes through a door w/o invite is a criminal, and above all, do not break the law. If it comes, assume the worst( the unknown) choose.

I would be more than happy to talk to law enforcement at any time, and help them in any way possible. All they have to do is call my secretary and make an appointment. Anyone kicks my door and somebody -- fully realize it's likely to be me if its really law enforcement -- is going to die. Because law enforcement has no reason to visit me without an appointment, I'm not going to believe some yahoo shouting "police" as he kicks my door. Call. Make an appointment. Knock. Show me a warrant. Everything's cool. Too many criminals and terrorists out there to take a no knock entry at face value for someone who is a law abiding citizen.
