I doubt any government would do so, once launched it wouldn't have to put into port anywhere in particular and could avoid a lot of government regulation. With 50,000 residents, each would pay $200,000 to secure a bed. That's not chicken feed but if it bought a residence in a Libertarian community it might be a bargain...

As someone else said on another forum, what a great target for pirates.

And then of course you have to find pilots (or passengers) for the aircraft who can land one
on a pitching and rolling deck !!!

Pitching and rolling?

Just how much pitching do you expect a 5000-5000foot long ship to do?

With a beam greater than 500feet there won't be much rolling going on either..

Think about the polar moment of intertia of anything that large...
