A friend hired a car. An EV by Volvo. Every function is on the centrally placed touch screen. Everything. So by law one is not allowed to touch the screen of his phone, because it is supposed to be distracting. But it is ok to take your eyes off the road to use the car screen!

In a vehicle touch screens suck. I have heard there is some push-back to go back to radios, heat-air, etc. with buttons and knobs. These can be controlled without the driver taking his/hers eyes off the road. My silly Honda won't let me change radio stations while backing out of the garage and I have to wait for the safety warning to go away before I can change anything. C.G.B.

In my Toyota Landcruiser, I am unable to put the seatbelt on if the car is at an incline in the desert! Had to disconnect all drivers warnings in my BMW X5, so I can drive without the lane change warning pulls me back! If one is overtaking a large vehicle, and gets close to the dividing line, the steering pulls you back!!

Look how far we've come. I can remember when the hardest thing we had to deal with when parked on an incline, was doing the old heel + toe with both feet on the floor starter, clutch, brake, + accelerator.
