Amazing that they found it. I'm guessing that the owners of that property are known druggies and the cops drove by and wondered what they were doing with a nice tractor parked in the front yard.

More kind words from more great guys! All the good karma may have worked......damn did I just mention karma...... AR is a wonderful place! Went to the JD Dealer and got a new keyswitch, while there talked to 'em about Lo-Jack. Gonna sign up. $695.00 per tractor. Trailer is still gone....... Deputy told me they got an anonymous call about suspicious activity at a property, upon investigation they could see the tongue of a trailer protruding from the brush. They could see where the VIN plate had been ground off giving them probable cause to enter property. When they got back to the trailer they could see my tractor chained to the rear of the tractor. Called a wrecker had them towed in. I thought the had my trailer too but it turned out to be another stolen trailer. Ain't heard if they caught anybody yet. Guy at JD dealer said theives often steal tractors hide 'em in the woods for a while to see if Lo-Jack finds 'em........ .

Start shopping for one on C.L., you'd be surprised how often people find there own stuff. Ooops, I posted before getting to the end. My father-in-law had a small tractor stolen and found it advertised for sale on an equipment trader website. It was only three weeks after it was stolen.

Glad they found your tractor. I get kinda sentimental when it comes to tractors, they're like a favorite dog or family member. Still wish I had my old Ford 8-N and 801 Powermaster. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.

Glad you got your tractor back! 2 stolen tractors have shown up here in my county in the last year, both purchased from craigslist. The first one wasn't found out to be stolen until the local guy went to get some parts, so he was out the price of the tractor. The second one was trailered up from the South somewhere and the local deputy checked the VIN so the two thieves got locked up (man and woman). This is unnecessary for you anymore JTEX, but there is a website called searchtempest.com that seaches all the craigslist and ebay websites in your area up to a radius you specify, and it would be handy when you are looking for a specific thing such as the model number of your tractor and then you could choose a 500 mile radius or other distance. It's also handy for looking for something specific that you haven't had stolen and just want to buy! for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

I don't know about your stuff, but when I used to own and use tractors, both wheeled and tracked, I usually disabled them immediately after I was done with them for the day. With my itsy-bitsy gas D-4, I had a solid "air filter" that I would substitute for the real air filter. No air, the engine doesn't run, or even start. Pretty hard to load even a little tiny "Cat" like that onto anything if the engine won't run. Other, much bigger tractors, I used other means to temporarily disable them. I'm sure you could figure out an easy way to make it immobile which would be hard to find/circumvent if a thief didn't know what the problem was before he tried to steal it. A PITA, but two or three minutes at the start and stop of each day you were using it is a lot less time than it takes a farmer or rancher to earn the money to replace a stolen one...or at least I thought so...and in our part of the Pacific NW, tractor thefts were pretty common, particularly around unguarded logging sites or isolated fields in the middle of the timber. Anyway, am glad to hear you got yours back. My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.
