The Democrats are getting more vocal about gun control again..... So I just upgraded my membership from Patron to Benefactor. I'm not going down without a fight. NRA Benefactor. Life is tough... It's even tougher when you're stupid... John Wayne

Just look at how much has changed since 1968. I would never have believed it. Never mistake motion for action.

I first joined the NRA in 1966 as an annual member... If I recall, a life membership at the time was $100... that seemed like an impossibility to me at the time.. Now here I am 52 years later joining the top tier of the NRA. ( well bottom of the top tier anyway) I will forgo the purchase of another toy for this, because its important to me, and important to my kids and hopefully important to YOU. Not everyone likes the fundraising techniques of the NRA and not everyone agrees with their tactics politically, but they are the "Elephant in the room" in Washington and our voice with the swamp rats.. I urge you all to support them for your sake, you kids and your country. NRA Benefactor. Life is tough... It's even tougher when you're stupid... John Wayne

I'm with you Frank. I'm a Benefactor member as well, and have signed up all of my sons as Life members. From that level, it's up to them to upgrade. The NRA is, and will be even more important going forward.

I just upgraded to Benefactor, as well. Since that's the "highest" level of Life membership (for now), I wonder what the NRA will create to encourage Benefactor members to contribute more $$? I notice in the magazine there's always a sidebar that says, "Your membership dollars are not enough," or something to that effect. I'll send additional contributions from time to time, but I'm about maxed out on big buck upgrades. Here you go. You'll receive an invitation in about a year, maybe less. I did. I went ahead and joined, cuz, what the hell? I'm going to send some bucks anyway. https://ge.nra.org/ _____________________ A successful man is one who earns more money than his wife can spend.

I know that they are always trolling for more money. They have to + it is in all of out benefits that they carry the torch.I know many who have given up their memberships because of that constant call for more money. No,I don't like being dunned for more money, who does? We just have to consider the alternatives. I have commented on this before on another forum but it bears repeating. A friend of the family from Germany came oer to spend his vacation here. When he was perusing my metal shop he noticed a .38 spl.setting on a bench + told me outright that if I was in Germany it would be my duty to report you to the police for having that weapon. Some folks never learn do they? Then there are those of us who do NOT want a repetition to past events. Never mistake motion for action.

Even being a Benefactor member, I get regular calls all of the time from the NRA, asking for more donations. I politely tell them that I am currently maxed out with giving, and ask them to judicially use their time and efforts in calling Life members first, in order to get them to upgrade. There are three levels of upgrade from Life member ($1,000): Endowment, Patron, Benefactor. ($1,000. $1,500, $1,500) So, figuring what it costs to upgrade from a regular member all of the way through Benefactor is $5,000-not an insignificant sum of money. And, I believe that upping to Life member is now $1,500 instead of $1,000, so figure $5,500 as a more realistic number. By the way, there other levels of recognition as well as the NRA Ring of Freedom ($1,000 to $999,999) or the Golden Ring of Freedom ($1,000,000 and over). Or the Heritage Society, etc. etc. etc. (Charitable Gift giving through estate planning, etc.) So, to surmise, there is no end to giving to the NRA if you so desire.
