As most of you probably don't know because the media is not reporting it,that over 2,000,000 acres have burnt off in north Texas,most of Oklahoma,New Mexico,+ Kansas.I guess that is not news.Point being that there were a LOT of starving cows so a bunch of people got together + started transporting round + square bales in convoy all the way from Lampasas to Stephenville up to the panhandle.A friend of mines son has a welding business + a bunch of them are volunteering their labor with donated drill stem to redo the fences.One of his buddies had a trailer that could haul about 30-40 round bales but his truck would not haul it so he figured nothing ventured nothing gained + went to see the owner of the Dodge dealership in Stephenville + asked him if he would loan them a truck to haul the trailer load. He gave him a 2017 1Ton w/ 45 miles on it + said just keep track of your miles.Governor Gregg Abbott told the DPS that this was a mission of mercy;unless any of the hay trucks are doing 100 MPH or something really stupid,do NOT pull them over. I love to see it when we all pull together for the common good. BTW Oklahoma said they needed hay as well;+ was told,if we have any left over you can have it but we are taking care of Texas 1st.The local sheriff also took up a donation to reimburse these drivers for their gas.He got close to 10K in donations. He told them just tell me what you spent,I trust you. Any money left over will be spent on fencing materials. There will not be any financial profit for the media to play with.Makes you proud to be a Texan.
