... my father, Louis Powell, was born in Medford, Oregon. Eagle Scout, WWII combat veteran, professor of forestry, devout Christian -- "a fine guy" as he was fond of saying about others. Miss you Pop. I didn't deserve such a wonderful father. That's him on the right with Medford High School classmates just after the war -- just some small town kids who participated honorably, dutifully in something huge.
