Exporting ammo out of USA Login/Join

I would like to ask you:

I have a friend in Portland, Oregon. Can he send me ammo (from USA to Europe)? Of course, I will have all papers OK for importing ammo in my country, but what my friend needs for this?

And If I will visit him, can I buy ammo by myself and export it (take with me) on the way back?

I have experience with taking hunting rifle and ammo to and from USA, but not with this. (CAGPT signed luggage, dealing with customs, ammo in different luggage than rifle etc.).

Thank you,
Jiri

I believe that your friend will have to go through a licensed importer/exporter. High Bridge Arms, Inc in San Francisco can do it for you.

You can not buy ammo yourself and take it out of the USA. It has to be exported through a licence exporter. I live in Canada and jump through to hoops 3-4 times a year. Firearms, firearms parts, ammo and reloading components are all ITTAR controlled
