I recently received a settlement on a class action lawsuit against Monsanto// Bayer AG. As expected, the lawyers raked off 40% of the award. What was unexpected was that Medicare raked off another 30%!. I was 51 years old at the time of the incident and was covered by private insurance, NOT MEDICARE! Why in the hell is Medicare entitled to ANY of my award? I was the injured party and Medicare had fuckall to do with anything. The lawyers explained that since SOME of the injured parties were Medicare insured that Medicare was legally entitled to a portion of EVERY award. Don’t expect justice from the American legal system. EXPECT LEGALITY ONLY! End of rant
