Hi, Myself and my girlfriend are travelling in and out of JFK a couple of weeks apart in July. After 2-3 day in NYC, we are renting a car with loose plans of driving north east. Any suggestions for scenic stops, sporting outlet stores, activities (Fishing? Scuba? Hiking? Shooting?) good restaurants, cool towns, national parks or anything else? Br Muntjac

LL Bean in Freeport, Kittery Trading Post, Brooklin Maine (where Wooden Boat Magazine is based with a boat-building school that may or may not be in session), Acadia National Park, The Hull's Cove Tool Barn. There is a nice lodge in Brooklin, right on the water. The smaller coast roads are slow but nice. Boston money runs out around Millbridge, from there on north is pretty calm even in summer. If you get further north into Canada, the tides around the Bay of Fundy make interesting entertainment, rivers that run backwards during high tide. TomP Our country, right or wrong. When right, to be kept right, when wrong to be put right. Carl Schurz (1829 - 1906)
