So I had time to kill last night, and low and behold they had some ammo, and a few rifles I would have bought.

Even got a can of powder Norma 205.

Calm before the storm.

Employees told me that Cabelas/Bass Whores bought only American Sportsman's Warehouse stores, and none of the Canadian Tire stores. So you Canadians ought to be safe from the BS wrath of the Bass Whore Pro.

Norman, I think the point he is making, or trying to make, is that Bass Pro bought them and like Cabelas, the quality, prices, customer service will erode, rapidly.
Not the employees fault, but their jobs are probably in jeopardy.

Yes Sir,

Our Cabelas in El Paso is ok. Not great, but ok.

The one I used to go to in Maine before the merger with Bass Pro was exceptional.

I have never been in a Bass Whore Shops and enjoyed it.

All the high end stuff that Cabelas used to be know for like Meindl boots is gone.

We have a Sportsman’s Warehouse and Cables in Lexington.

No comparison. Sportsman’s has ammo from 6.5,Swede to 7mm STW and 416 Rigby before all hell set in. All powders, bullets, ammo. decent real hunting clothes.

Cable’s after sale went to an outlet mall.

Unfortunately, that is so very true in these days of ignorant counter help. I see what was being said + I have to agree. It seems that the old days of a REAL gun store with knowledgeable personnel are a thing of the past. Mores the pity. On another tack, since Bass Pro bought out Cabela's + now Sportsman warehouse, will the Cabelas points be accepted in all locations? Does S.W. + B.P. have fine gun rooms? I've been saving my points for years + would hate to lose them.

Sportsmans only has new guns.

They don't trade, they only sell new items.

SW was the only store that had ammo and powder when I was in South vegas. I didn't make it to the North vegas store.

If you look on the Sportsman's website, they now say that they are buying used guns. They also have a gunsmith available for most gun item jobs.

"SW was the only store that had ammo and powder when I was in South vegas. I didn't make it to the North vegas store." Rich: You saved yourself a trip. I live close to it and they have very, very little of anything.
