Sad to hear about his sudden demise. For me he wrote the best adventure fiction of our times concerning hunting and Africa. I expected him to continue to write for a few more years. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-59278275

That news hit me pretty hard. Recently, we’ve lost him, Clive Cussler, and WEB Griffin. All three were some of the best historical fiction writers. I will say some of the recent Wilbur’s seemed to have been more of a product of the co-author, but still good. I meant to be DSC Member...bad typing skills. Marcus Cady DRSS

I suggest reading “On Leopard Rock,” which is sort of an autobiography. I meant to be DSC Member...bad typing skills. Marcus Cady DRSS

I have a dear friend from college that is a great Wilbur Smith fan + we swapped books over the years. I bought her a copy of "On Leopard Rock" when it 1st came out. I have been reading his works since I 1st read "When The Lion Feeds" in the 60s. I was not aware that WEB Griffin had passed; another loss for the world of literature. I felt the same when James Clavell went. RIP Wilbur. Never mistake motion for action.

Wilbur S. has give the "Dayly Mail" some interviews from 2010 - 2021. See here: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/ho...ad-Wilbur-Smith.html Sometimes hard, but ever open-minded...
