Sometimes I wish we had stayed independent. Blame Andrew Jackson and Sam Houston. But that said, I am a patriotic American and that's what scares me so much about the Dims right now.

That's true, but like most hindsight observations, it seemed like a good idea at the time. BTW, today marks the anniversary of the fall of the Alamo.

Not to be a smartass, but your post is dated March 5th, and the Alamo fell in the early morning hours of March 6th.
