It's a fascinating experience to watch people lose their stuffing over words on a computer screen typed by someone they don't know. It seems perfectly normal to size someone up by the junk or wisdom they post. But it's incomprehensible to me that folks get sooooo easily offended and worked up over words on a computer screen - especially to the point of fixation, personal attacks, childish rants, vendettas, and incessant trash talk. I believe we all chuckle a little at well thought out humorous dig, but to go batcrap crazy over and fixated on it seems just a little bit childish and unbalanced. So do words on a computer screen ever invoke any significant feelings beyond laughter for you? ___________________ Just Remember, We ALL Told You So.

I'll laugh at some and sometimes say to myself "this guy must be a real A##hole" but I keep my thoughts to myself. I remember something my mother used to say years ago "If you can't say something nice don't say anyhing." Tom Z NRA Life Member

I don't respond to posters that start an offensive rant at me. I feel like a retort from me has a chance of me looking as ignorant as the other guy. Though inwardly, I would like to reach through the internet and bitch slap some of them. Truthfully though, most people on these shooting and reloading forums are considerate of others. Yes, and I do not believe I am a crowd of ONE. Does it not bother you when someone you do not know, have never met and probably will never meet, makes unfounded/unsubstantiated/lies concerning your character or beliefs???? As I have said in a different discussion on here, I can underrstand why Idaho SharpShooter made the comments he did. Do not know about you Opus, but I am not going to be very accepting of a total stranger makliongh a comment toward me that I would not accept from a life long friend. There are members of AR I would enjoy meeting and there are members of AR that if I ever meet them there will be a damn serious discussion take place before I shake their hand. I do not know about you or anyone else, but I damn sure will not put up with shit from a stranger that I would not put up with from a life long friend! Even the rocks don't last forever.

Right. I miss discusions w/ some of the past members,'Idaho Sharpshooter' among them.(Ritch still owes me for a T shirt;damn him) .I try to stay off of the political forum because it's bad for my blood pressure + NOTHING is accomplished. These folks that talk trash online would never have the balls to say it to my face. Those cyber heroes who are a legend in their own mind. Never mistake motion for action.

Saeed, I don't pay any attention to Trump's tweets as that is one thing I do not like about him. Even the rocks don't last forever.

LOL Talk about gobbling it all up religiously, sounds like someone has been listening ONLY to the main stream media's lies.

I had a muslim jerk on Facebook tell me that he/they "would hang me from a tree in my front yard". The joke was on him because I don't have any trees in my front yard. LOL I also told him that if they tried, my grass would grow lush from muslim blood. FB told me I needed to be more tolerant of diversity. LOL BH63 Hunting buff is better than sex!

My question is why make such comments toward another person on line that you would not make in a Face To Face interaction? I willingly admit that I have made comments that I should not have, but I would have made those same comments in a Face To Face interaction. Even the rocks don't last forever.

I do get upset when some SOB posts about some work I did and won't even give me any info other than I screwed it up. Give me a chance to respond. Especially bad when they were not even the individual affected. Jim Kobe 10841 Oxborough Ave So Bloomington MN 55437 952.884.6031 Professional member American Custom Gunmakers Guild

Jim - Excellent point. When someone intends to hurt your professional reputation, business and/or livelihood, then you must respond and you must defend yourself. Fortunately, we now have strong cyberspace libel laws to protect against cyber stalking and defamation. Regardless, I still believe it is wise to remain anonymous on the Internet. There are a lot of Internet psychopaths who have nothing better to do than attack folks they don't like and then there are a few who go to extremes in an attempt to ruin someone. Outside of that, I do not see any reason to do anything other than laugh at those who get all wound up over words from an Internet stranger - and from my perspective there is a lot of entertainment on AR and other sites. I look at it like screaming at a tree - the tree doesn't care and it all looks pretty ridiculous from afar. ___________________ Just Remember, We ALL Told You So.

Just search: form v. function wood v. steel anything neg about a mauser You'll see who drops their nitro pills on the floor cause they're shaking sooooo much trying to type...…. I can see it from that perspective, but I can also see it from the perspective of meeting some mouthy individual face to face and slapping their mouth shut. There is nothing any of can do, regardless of our personal political ideology, that will have ANY influence on Americas political situation! So why make comments about someone that the person makiong the comments can not prove, EVER! No Sir, I have made up my mind that there are some folks on here if I ever meet them face to face, they will be doing some explaining before there is any hand shaking. Reminds me of the story of Winston Churchill setting in the House Of Commons where some adversary had the floor + was lambasting Winston in the worst of terms. He just sat there, looking bored. The gent next to him asked,"Are'ny you upset by the way he's talking about you?" Winston replies,"I would be if I valued his opinion." Never mistake motion for action.

Not one bit. I do not intentionally try to insult anyone, but I do voice my observations, and that is sometimes taken as an insult or attack.. I'm working on that.. but all I'm doin is callin it as I see it... I don't say anything here that I wouldn't say to someones face.. In this age of electronic communication it seems we have forgotten how tone, inflection, and even context(verbal), which is often very different from the written word, and is often taken the wrong way by the reader.. It happens, and it doesn't bother me one bit, because I understand how it happens. NRA Benefactor. Life is tough... It's even tougher when you're stupid... John Wayne

The internet also allows folks to be pussys. Most of the diatribe that is spouted would not be spouted if it was told to someones face,if for no other reason than that they would get the snot slapped out of them. Never mistake motion for action.

And that is what bothers me the most. As I have said, I honestly can understand why Idaho Sharp Shooter reacted the way he did! People on these sites say stuff that they would NEVER say to a person in a Face To Face Interaction! Even the rocks don't last forever.

I do not know what comment was made, but if I remember correctly he made threats that he would have been capable of carrying out. It really is hard not to want to catch up to some folks and confront them over their commnents and punch them in the mouth,. simply becauser they say crap that No One would say to someone in a Face To Face interaction. I have met a few folks off of here by doing Hog/Javelina hunts with them over the years, but as I have said, there are some that if I ever meet them face to face there will be a long discussion concerning how bad they think they are. When folks try to get along on these sites, it can be a lot of fun. But in watching things over the years on these sites, many folks have simply became more aggressive toward each other and civility has pretty well gone out the window, but in reality it is only a reflection of American Society as a whole.
