We are headed to Belfast and Dublin in two days. In the 90s when Sinn Fein was active, managed to be a guest of the IRA in Bodenstown on their bus. They knew I was a US Army officer, but they like Americans as we are an example of defeating the Brits. For real escapes-read up on Michael Collins in the early 20s, after the Easter Rising of 1916. Collins was the George Washington of the Irish Republic or... "Free State". Also have been a guest of our US Special Forces English counterpart in Hereford: 22 SAS..."Who Dares Wins". Avatar

There's a good book on Michael Collins called "Mick" that's worth reading. Also, as to the Irish; I remember seeing Donald O'Conner on Johnny Carson once and Carson asked him why when asked a question, does an Irishman always answer with another question? O'Conner said, "Do they now"?

We were at a beach club years ago. An Irish pilot comes along with a girl who looked very young - she was an air hostess in his airline. An older French lady made a comment that he was a cradle snatcher. I told him what she said. He came to have a conversation with me, the French lady was close. “Saeed, what do you think of my new girlfriend?” “She is absolutely gorgeous you lucky sod!” “You like them young too?” “Yep! God made them useful while young. Women have an expiry date you know!” He looked straight at the French lady, and “Ah!I see perfect example of that right here!” We all burst laughing. The French lady didn’t!

First rate, Saeed. Again proving the international language of attraction is superior to all politics and strife. Along with Guinness and Irish young ladies... Avatar

True story! British Airlines staff had access to our sailing club. The stewardesses were especially welcome! I had jet skies. I offered them a ride. An Irish girl was on the jet skies, and was showing her the various controls. The she asked where the brake was!
