HFC is shutting down a refinery in Wyoming and converting it to a renewable diesel plant. The production of the new renewable diesel actually loses money per gallon produced. They going to make money selling it for state and federal credit. Hundreds of milions of dollars to build plants to make product that loses money per unit sold. Hell even Tesla does better than that. Doesn't sound like it is on Bush or Obama's watch.

It was a announced this week in the age of trump. I am reaching the conclusion the only way the petrochemical space makes money is gaming the regulatory system in the age of a nutty Saudi Arabia. Still this one makes little sense. Building a plant where the unit economics are negative is scary. Mike

Is ethanol much different? It only exists because of government regulation. A dog bone thrown to ADM, Cargill, etc. C.G.B.

Ethanol is a federal scam. Renewable diesel is a state scam. Mike
