Like the jackalope? It would be interesting to see what some people must have come up with just for fun. .

Sure it can happen, when multiple trophies are shot and skinned in camp. If tags are not marked correctly or the horns that match. I ask, if there are more than one of the same species a shipment, that the client sent me the picture they took to make sure. Just did it yesterday with a father and son kudu and nyala. Each took a kudu and nyala, Neither had tags just 2 set of Kudu horns and Nyala and 4 capes with father's name on them. Matched them with pictured they sent problem averted. But I can se it happening if taxidermist is not willing to go the extra mile for the client. Glad it worked out in your favor, glad you liked it.

i am really glad it happened as it happened we ended up shooting two waterbucks as the second one decided to bed on the blood trail of first one we were following up on we named him tito looks like tito decided to come back and claim his title i had told my taxidermist to mount only one of them and decide himself which one is best. tito was the bigger waterbuck but his horns as crocked. so tito has his horns in a european mount. but as always he did not want to be left out of the action and managed to get his cape on the full mount. i am glad it happen - sometimes the ball bounces in my favor
