L. David KeithJeff, this is true of some Taxidermist shops. You might have to ask in the African Hunting forum to get some replies, but several have had issues.

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

<The Artistry of Wildlife>Yes it's happening. It's a BAD IDEA, lots of damage occurs, but they are doing it to beat the treated wood thing that the USFW has imposed on shipping crates.
My orders from Zim come in palletized cardboard boxes...no problem.

<The Artistry of Wildlife>DAL, great, we are not saying all will have problems , it's just the fact that cardboard leaves little protection if the crate is man handled or mis handled.
It's not the best but it's so-so for dried skins and skulls, I see the most damage when they ship MOUNTS in them.
If they don't overdo the bubble-wrap IMHO, you are going to be UNHAPPY!!!!!
