BNagelDip and pack steps
If someone knows, what part of the boiling of horns/skulls happens at the taxidermist/processor? In other words, if a set is over-boiled/burnt is it more likely to have happened at the safari/hunting operation or at the dip-and-pack site? (Does further boiling/cleaning have to happen at the shipping taxidermist before they smother it in Sevin-Dust and throw it in the box/crate?)
(Had the issue come up years ago and still don't know -- fingerpointing/denial by all involved and I had to fix it myself.)

L. David KeithIt's different from Outfit to Outfit. Some PH's have the skulls boiled/cleaned at their facility and some only cut off as much meat at possible including the eyes then salt, leaving the boiling/cleaning to the dip/pack company. You should ask your PH to get the answer. Some are competent and do a good job while others destroy more than they save. Over boiling is a major concern. This can also happen in the US if the Taxidermist doesn't watch what they're doing.
