I'm hoping someone has an explantion or knowledge about our two Zebra rugs.

Net, two Zebra Rugs, we've had them back from the taxidermist for @ 3months. My buddy's is in a Trophy Room with little foot traffic and mine in my Office/Trophy room with heavy foot traffic.

In the three months my hide has "grown" or "Stretched" for lack of a better word on the black felt backing creating huge wrinkles in the hide. My sidekicks is not so bad but developing along the same.

I called the taxidermist with whom I actually have had no previous issues or difficulties - his work for me & my buddies has been up until this point just fine. He unhesitatingly said ship them right back to him which I did today.

Is this normal? Should I ask him to trim the unsightly wrinkled bits off? Should be skin be glued (as ours) or sewn to the felt backing? Will this stretching always be an issue if placed in a heavily trafficed area or should it be in an area with less disturbance?

Thanks for any input, don't want to piss and moan here - just understand what to expect. Skins I've used for rugs before held up well but didn't have any backing and never developed these "wrinkles".

Cheers,
