The North Florida Chapter of SCI (my chapter) lost its Wildlife Education Center space and was forced to place its extensive collection of taxidermy in storage. The cost of storage is unsustainable and the Chapter has decided to dispose of many of the mounts. In November they will be shipped to an auctioneer; however, prior to then chapter members may purchase the mounts at suggested or best offer prices. Suggested prices are deeply discounted. The Chapter has allowed me to make this information available to AR members. I have a zip drive that I can email to interested parties. I won't attempt to list all the species available, but there are 70+ full body mounts and nearly 40 shoulder mounts. Naturally, any sales MUST conform to all local, state and federal restrictions. Shipping certain trophies across state lines will undoubtedly be prohibited. The last thing any of us need is trouble with wildlife authorities or other legal entities. PM me for details and an email address, if you're interested. Yes, Jacksonville. The space was located at a tourist area, Jacksonville Landing, which went bust and closed. The space had been donated and renting a suitable space is just too costly. The chapter is going to try to retain some mounts for Sensory Safaris but well over 100 mounts are up for sale, cheap. For example, a full mount black wildebeest is offered at $540 and a Cape buffalo shoulder mount at $315. And those are suggestions; some mounts may go for less (or more, if there is competitive interest). The auction house I linked to in the "Selling Taxidermy" thread consistently does better than those numbers if they haven't already committed to an auctioneer. They do especially well on full-body mounts. "If you’re innocent why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”- Donald Trump | |||
