So I just picked up my Ox from the taxidermist in Anchorage and have a few questions. I asked for a beetle European but a believe they boiled it due to the mess still in the nasal cavity and the gunk I scraped out of it.

I believe I can get it a bit nicer and whiten it up but I am concerned about the smell. It doesn't gag you but it does smell up the office. I have heard that Ox horns are a problem if they start stinking? Do I need to get this back in to a taxidermist?

Thanks.

You have an unacceptable taxidermist. Take it to someone else and pay to have it fixed.

Any true horn needs to be removed from the core and both the inside of the horn and the core need to be cleaned. I would find another taxidermist to give it another go.
