Don't know where you live, but twice a year in Steep Falls, Maine, there is an auction of all types of taxidermy items. Unfortunately, whitetail mounts are super common, and commonly go for 100-125 dollars unless they are uncommonly large or non typical. At the last auction I attended, I saw an excellent, full body mount of a Bongo go for only $1,000.00. Taxidermy is not a good investment unless it is performed by a master of the craft who is well known in the industry. There are damn few of those out there. Your other alternative is to try to sell it on e-bay.

Gracedog is correct, the value in taxidermy is all sentimental re sale of any mount is very low. You can buy whitetails like you have there for 20-50.00 all day. Jerry Huffaker State, National and World Champion Taxidermist
