Scheduled to go back to Zim for the third time next June. Going to the Hammond Ranch in the Save. Leopard is #1 on the list, hopefully a big buff and eland. Thinking about a giraffe for multiple baits and for a rug. The bedroom in my house where I put it is not huge. Thinking about halfing the skin and have 1/2 on either side of a king size bed? Any advice would be appreciated

I think you will be shocked at the hide thickness and how HUGe a giraffe is up close. You are also talking about a lot of money...

In 2004 I shot a giraffe in SA and had a full rug done. There, at the time, it was quite inexpensive. I regret it as it is really too big for any place. Without measuring, I'd say mine is 16+ feet long and 12 feet wide. I've tried to sell it in the past but there is no market for something this big. My zebra rugs sold quickly.

Stalking and shooting a giraffe is great fun and it takes skill and patience as they are so tall they can see you coming.

Good luck.

Had my "Stink Bull", flat skinned. Using as a pool table cover now, as that was intended purpose. Works well. Yes it is a heavy shin, and very big. If your room is large enough, go for it. Good luck and happy hunting!!!
