Heym 450/400New Taxidermist
Long story short..
My old taxidermist was a crook and stole 2 safaris worth of animals and dropped off the face of the earth...he was a very well known taxidermist and I'm sure some of you can figure out who I'm talking about.
Anyway..I usually do European mounts on most Deer/antelope species but occasionally I still like to have select animals mounted. Cats, rare antelopes, ect....
Now to the point...I need a new taxidermist and I'm particularly interested in ones that are tops when it come to cats..Lions, Leopards and the like. I have an upcoming safari to Zambia and with a little luck I'll be taking Leopard, Buff, Hippo, Croc and a few select PG species. If I'm lucky enough, I'd like to have the Leopard and Cookson's Wildebeest mounted and maybe the buff.
Recommendations please...

http://tri-statetaxidermy.com/...-state-taxidermy.htmHe knows his cats.
I really don't care for taxidermy. He has my lion and eventually I will get it done.
He has done some exceptional cats.

The guy is out of business for a few years now and left many clients hanging...if your curiosity is getting the best of you, google taxidermists in Eagle, Wi and there are tons of other forums that go on and on about him.
About a decade ago we were good friends and went on multiple Safaris together so it still stings a little. I probably should have left it out of my original post

I hate it when members don't name names too...

I exported my cats from Sweden to Phil just to have him make them.
I think it was far fewer that could make good cat mounts just a few years ago IMO.
Now wee see great work from all around. Jerry Huffaker have had some really nice cats made recently.

The Artistry of WildlifeI'm a pretty political kinda guy...I'll just wear my red baseball cap with the white letters and say Live America, Buy America, Support America, Their Business's and American Workers. Support sportsmen/taxidermist that hunt fish and enjoy the outdoors just like you. Whatever American Taxidermist you choose spend it at home. Thank you to those that brought up my studio. Every name mentioned above strives to, and can give you above industry standard quality work and has a reputation that matches that quality.
