Put a small amount of hair shampoo in a couple of cups of water and stir well. Using a sponge, gather up some foam and apply, wiping with the hair, rinsing steadily. You don't want a soaking wet sponge, just barely damp, with lots of the foam. Keep wiping down until clean. Wax antlers, oil horns (know the difference?) Use a Q-tip with Windex on the eyes. Lips, nostrils, can be renewed with a small soft brush and a bit of shoe polish. As it dries, brush with a soft hair brush to lay the hair properly. You said some of these were really old, so be sure and not get them very wet.....newer mounts are glued to forms of foam, but the old ones could be stuffed with anything from excelsior to straw and no glue at all.
