euro skull mount
Gents:

I suppose I should have looked around before asking on another forum: if I am successful in taking a decent representative bull in this year's Maine moose hunt, I will be interested in doing a euro skull mount. Is this a job for a taxidermist? I've never done one before. Can anyone help, please?

Thanks!

Just pay a taxidermist $150-200 and have it done right. Moose are a pain.

Call some local taxidermists so you are not price shocked after the hunt. I would imagine you will be looking at more like $400.00 to $500.00 for a moose, especially if you want it on a panel. The process is very labor intensive when working with a specimen of that size. You will be very glad you had a professional do the work and it will be money well spent, as this is not a good project for a beginner.

Kindest regards,
Mary

Take good care of the cape, or let the Taxidermist skin it out and use it for trade towards your euro mount. Most Taxidermists can sell a cape or mount it for their own shop. Should be worth at least $200 if it's a nice one. LDK

LDK- Makes a great point on the cape, just take care of it. I would also stop by the taxidermist you choose and get on the same page of how he would like it brought in. Great recommendation LDK.

Mary- $400 for a euro moose? Wow, I need to move to AZ. hahaha I charge $180 without a panel.
