Over on www.taxidermy.net there are a couple of threads about a mounted walrus. The first thread shows the completed mount: http://www.taxidermy.net/forum/index.php/topic,13377.0.html The second thread shows how this was a completely custom mount that was done from scratch. Very impressive! http://www.taxidermy.net/forum/index.php/topic,13658.0.html My hat is off to the guy who did this. JDS And so if you meet a hunter who has been to Africa, and he tells you what he has seen and done, watch his eyes as he talks. For they will not see you. They will see sunrises and sunsets such as you cannot imagine, and a land and a way of life that is fast vanishing. And always he will will tell you how he plans to go back. The walrus was nothing compared to the Irish Elk he created from 4 elk hides and replica antlers that won the World Show or the re-creation of a Giant Panda from 2 black bear hides that won both National and World Championships. He's got magic in his hands. RETIRED Taxidermist

That walrus was very cool. Wonder what he charged for that? He's clearly got the clientele as there were at least 2 lifesize polar bears in the background. Ditto on the Irish elk and giant panda. I would love to see them also. The museum grade taxidermy is so interesting. _______________________________
