I shot an Antelope a few years ago and did my own euro mount with the boiling kit from Van Dykes. The mount came out good and has been in my garage ever since. My father and I just shot 2 more this year and I was planning on doing the same thing.

I noticed that I have a slight smell still coming from the old mount. The smell is coming from the inside of the horns. Since I left it in the garage, I never really noticed it. All flesh is gone inside the horn and the horn was boiled so I don’t know what else to do.

Is there something I can put on or inside the horns to kill the smell on the new mounts? My father’s mount will be going inside his house.

Thanks.

after the horns are off the cores--turn them upside down and put in half bleach and water-let it stay there for a few days and then remove and dry. that will take out the antelope smell from the NEW one. the old one is anyones guess..... wave
