Drill some small holes from the bottom up into the jaws, and let them drain. Then you can soak them in some Dawn.

The skull has to be degreased. Hog skulls and bear skulls are notorious for having lots of grease in them.

Do the small hole drilling underneath the skull in inconspicious spots.

Submerge the skull in white gas (coleman fuel) and let it set for about 3-4 weeks. Put a wire mesh shelf in the bottom of the container so that the skull won't be sitting in the leached out oil.

That should degrease it pretty good.

Good luck!

And so if you meet a hunter who has been to Africa, and he tells you what he has seen and done, watch his eyes as he talks. For they will not see you. They will see sunrises and sunsets such as you cannot imagine, and a land and a way of life that is fast vanishing. And always he will will tell you how he plans to go back. (author: David Petzer)
