I am being quoted $3600 for a life sized leopard mount plus $375 for tree limb with some foliage. Is this a fair price given the current economic climate. Please do not get me wrong I am prepared to pay the going rate for quality work and want the taxidermist to make a decent profit. Any suggestions, comments will be welcome.

I am paying $2975 for a full size leopard. It will sit on the floor so no add-ons for extras.

The taxidermist does a lot of African work and is located in Wisconsin.

I charge $3900. for a lifesize leopard with tree or base included. Except I only charge extra on quote depending on several factors for hardwood trim or cabinet type bases. The price is fair and competitive for top quality taxidermy.

If your taxidermist does top quality work, then Yes, that is a fair price.

You paid how much to shoot it?? maybe on your first try maybe on your tenth. Why would you want to scrimp at this point in the game?
Pay the man if he does great work, I did.

Agree with Dr. Mike...kind of a funny question? You already have $12,000 plus into the leopard and hunt...you will be sick to get a bad taxidermy job back on your cat. 95% of the taxidermists out there are bad when it comes to mounting cats....Just the way it is...I would only go to The Wildlife Gallery or Phil Soucy. They are the best ...and yes you get what you pay for. If the taxidermy doesnt mean that much to you then go ahead and have a cheaper guy do it and your piece will look like 95% of the cat mounts...BAD.
