Plains Game Capes

Because of the cost, buying a house, and starting a family, I got my Plains Game (kudu, blue wildebeest, blesbok, impala, gemsbok, duiker) done in european mounts. The reality is is that I will probably never have the money to do full mounts. Plus, we are moving back to remote Alaska and full mounts would be too much to deal with anyway. My taxidermist has my capes though. Any ideas on what I could do with them?

If that's the case, they have been "wet tanned" which makes them desirable to Taxidermists looking for African capes. You can sell them on the Taxidermy.net web site, Ebay or post them on the Classifieds if no one here needs them. They shouldn't be any problem to sell. Good hunting, LDK

I talked to my taxidermist today. The capes are fully tanned (not frozen). Sorry, my mistake. They were tanned at New Method Tannery. I'm not familiar with them, but he said people in the taxidermy industry would be. If you are interested, let me know (send me a PM) - first come, first serve. I won't be able to pick them up for a week or two...so probably almost a month before I could get something out.
