Anyone have a picture of a leopard "bust" or pedestal head mount? I refer to the head only mount that would be placed on a pedestal or table top. Please post it or e-mail to willparks@me.com Thanks. Will J. Parks, III

McKenzie has a table pedestal form, if you look at the PDF online catalog there should be a picture of the form. http://www.mckenziesp.com/LEP-3057-P4132.aspx

Will, do we dare ask why you are asking about leopard chess-piece mounts? ____________________________ If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today ... 2018 Zimbabwe - Tuskless w/ Nengasha Safaris 2011 Mozambique - Buffalo w/ Mashambanzou Safaris

The mountain lion pedestal will need a LOT of alterations to make it look like a tom leopard. FYI

The Mckenzie leopard form is the same style pose in open mouth or closed mouth as the pictured lion. Couldnt find a leopard example. Page 212 in the pdf catalog shows the leopard pedestal. The only major altercation needed would be a change out leopard head which are cheap($48).

RJohnson, Was wondering where you found this picture as my husband, Chris Krueger of Krueger's Creations Taxidermy, mounted this cat. Can't remember if I had posted it on this site in the past. I need to watermark our photo's. Will, The McKenzie leopard pedestal is pretty crappy. It looks like an otter. For an anatomically correct mount one would need to purchase a shoulder mount leopard form and alter it to the attitude desired (the easier way) or one could purchase a change out head, add foam and sculpt into a pedestal (a bit more difficult, especially if one isn't proficient with sculpting.) BTW,the mountain lion pictured is a female. I will be posting those pictures of Larry Sellers leopard rug this week. He received it a few weeks ago and is very pleased with the end result. We did a scalloped leather border, carpet back and hangers for wall hanging or it can go on the floor. The rug is very stable and free from wrinkling with the carpet backing. Kind regards, Mary Taxidermist/Rugmaker

Mary your husband did a great job, when I run across a mount that I like I'll save it for future reference to give to my taxidermist. I like the idea of cost/space savings of a pedestal Mt lion, and have had that photo saved for a couple years.

RJ, Chris said thanks for the compliment and he said to give him a call when you get your lion. Taxidermist/Rugmaker

That cougar is an interesting mount. Not for me. I don't really get into the open mouth thing. For me it is great for a month and then gets old. Would like to see a leopard mount as well. Interesting choice for such a spectacular animal.

I was more curious if you were missing the other half of a cape (i.e., the hair slipped, it was eaten, your wife desired a coat ...) ____________________________ If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today ... 2018 Zimbabwe - Tuskless w/ Nengasha Safaris 2011 Mozambique - Buffalo w/ Mashambanzou Safaris
