Hey all.

I am looking for any pictures of jackal or coyote mounts.

I want to have a shoulder mount or a full mount of a jackal done but I do not like the results of the local taxidermy.

Thank you.

Gerhard

Here are a couple. The full body(before brushing out) and pedestal mounts are mine.

Here are a few of the same mount that I found on the net. I am getting a full body mount coyote done myself, but not this pose. I am likely going with a standing pose. The mannikin I chose is a Brent Housekeeper BH103, listed on www.taxidermy.com - it's the coyote standing and looking over his shoulder.

My taxidermist offered several good ideas, including:
1. Where do you plan on putting it? Standing and laying poses take up considerably more floor/wall length then sitting poses.
2. The "open mouth/bearing teeth" mounts have a limited appeal. Unless you are really set on it, go with the closed mouth.
3. If you have pictures from the day or moment you shot the animal, show your taxidermist - it was especially important for the one I shot because of the unique color.
4. What was the pose of the animal just before you shot it? This is a recommended "basic" idea to commemorate your trophy.

I think that the eyes must be perfect to make the mount. I don't have mine back yet, but I do know that you don't get a chance to do it over, so do it right the first time. (Here's a link to the coyote I shot: https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/.../135104434#135104434

Here's one that I shot back last winter around the middle of December. I haven't gotten him back from the taxidermist yet:

As soon as I get him back I'll let you all see what he looks like.

Wow erict,

That is an awesome coyote.

I have seen some jackal mounts but they never get close to anything like this.

I wonder if it's because of the pelts of the coyote?

Ben589,

When you get your coyote back please post a photo as well.

Thank you.
